Hi Reader,

There are about ten weeks left in 2026.

That’s usually when founders start counting what didn’t get done. The program that was supposed to launch in September. The partnership conversation that’s still “on the list.” The project that was 70% finished in July and is still 70% finished today.

If that’s you, you’re not alone, and this probably isn’t a discipline problem.

The founder who kept starting over

A while back, I coached a founder I’ll call Mark inside a group program.

Mark knew exactly what he needed to build: his primary offer. On our group calls, we’d revisit it, he’d name his next steps, and he’d leave with a clear plan.

Then real life happened between calls.

A new idea would show up, usually for a secondary offer. It was a good idea, often a really good one. So he’d open a new doc, start sketching, and get excited. By the next call, the primary offer was right where he’d left it, and the secondary one was half-built too.

Back and forth. Neither one got finished.

Mark wasn’t lazy or scattered, and the group wasn’t failing him. It gave him exactly what it was designed to give: clarity and a regular checkpoint. What it couldn’t give him was someone in the space between calls, helping him hold the line between a good idea and the right next action.

(In 1:1 work, that would have been a five-minute conversation the first week a new idea showed up.)

That’s the Implementation Gap, and it almost always lives in the in-between.

What the Implementation Gap actually is

The Implementation Gap is the distance between strategic clarity and real momentum.

You know your priorities. You may have a coach who helped you set them, and a team ready to execute. But between “we should do this” and “this is actually getting done,” there’s a stretch where things fall apart:

  • Priorities drift when something shinier comes along.
  • Projects stall at the point where the next step isn’t obvious, so nobody takes it.
  • Your team waits for direction, because you’re the only one who knows how the pieces fit.

Clarity gets set in sessions. Implementation happens between them.

Somehow you end up back in execution mode, doing the work yourself to keep things moving, which is exactly where you add the least value.

Founders tend to fix this by trying harder. They make a better to-do list, get up earlier, or download another productivity app. But capability was never the issue. The real problem is that one person can’t be both the source of new ideas and the guard who protects the current priority from them. Those jobs pull against each other.

Closing the gap means someone owns the bridge. That person turns strategy into sequenced next actions with clear owners. They notice when a project has gone quiet. And when a new idea shows up mid-build, they ask, “Is this replacing something, or adding to it?”

Here’s how my client Tony described what that support looks like:

“For a Solopreneur struggling to keep the plates spinning and the balls in the air, Moriah is a godsend. So organized, so patient, and so capable at taking all the chaos, simplifying it into processes, and then implementing the execution. Moriah supported me for months and had a dramatic impact on me and my growing team.” — Tony Albrecht, Creative Director + Founder

“Implementing the execution.” Simplifying the chaos is only half the job. Getting the work across the finish line is the other half.

Here's an exercise you can do during your next coffee break - but first, a quick message from my sponsor...

🚦Exercise: The Q4 Momentum Check

We’re three weeks into Q4, which is early enough to change how this quarter ends. Give yourself 15 minutes.

Step One: List what’s on your plate for Q4. Include what you said yes to this quarter, plus anything still hanging over from earlier in the year.

Step Two: Score each one.
🟢 Moving
🟡 Drifting (moving, but off-plan)
🔴 Stalled (nothing done in two weeks)

Step Three: Choose a Stalled commitment. If only one thing on this list could be finished by December 31, which would it be?

Step Four: For that commitment, answer two questions: What’s the very next action, and who owns it? And what do you need to park to make room for it?

If you got stuck on those last two questions (you know which one matters, but not what happens next, who should own it, or what has to give), that’s exactly what a Consultation Call is for. Book one here, and we’ll work through it together.

P.S. Ten weeks is enough time to finish one important thing, as long as it starts moving this week. Hit reply and tell me which one you chose.
